James F. Shanahan, M.D.
James F. Shanahan, M.D. is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, graduating from Upper St. Clair High school in 1992. He attended the University of Notre Dame for undergraduate studies and Georgetown University for Medical School as well as Internal Medicine Residency. He completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh in 2006 before joining our practice. He performs diagnostic heart catheterizations, transesophageal echo and interpretation of nuclear imaging. Dr Shanahan is the co-director of the Heart Institute at Jeffersion Regional Medical center. He has a special interest in valvular heart disease.
